About the Journal

PetroRenova Indexed, Revista Científica de la Energía, is an international journal with a broad scope in the areas of oil, gas and renewable energies, edited by Petróleos & Renovables S. A., in alliance with Instituto Universitario Politécnico Santiago Mariño. It is a venezuelan scientific journal, specialized, in the process of indexing and refereed under the double-blind system. Its publications, of open access, are licensed under Creative Commons (BY-NC-SA) Attribution 4.0 International.

It is published quarterly and its main objective is to disseminate unpublished content (in Spanish and English), with the aim of expanding knowledge in the energy industry, from innovation to sustainability, in the construction, optimization and scientific growth of the future, with epistemological and methodological perspectives, in the industry sector at national and international level.

PetroRenova Indexed is aimed at researchers, professionals, teachers, students and anyone interested in deepening their knowledge in the areas of oil, gas and renewable energies, since, due to its interdisciplinary nature, it provides knowledge, constructs, theories, methods and other approaches, in its publications such as scientific articles, reflections, opinions, essays, reviews, interviews, among others.

It is an honor to present Issue No. 2 of Volume 2-2026 of PetroRenova Indexed, a platform where technical rigor meets strategic vision to navigate the current challenges facing the energy sector. In a context that demands operational efficiency and a commitment to sustainability, the articles in this issue offer a comprehensive perspective on how innovation can transform traditional processes. Our industry stands at a crossroads where the optimization of existing assets must coexist with the exploration of new technological frontiers. In this issue, we address four pillars that define the immediate future of our regional management: a) Sustainability and environmental responsibility, b) The new frontier of strategic resources, c) Efficiency in carbon recovery and management, and d) Technical innovation in western Venezuela.
