Arbitration process
All papers will be evaluated under the double-blind mode by a Referee Committee, made up of three (3) members of the Scientific Committee and two (2) specialists of recognized prestige, selected by the Editorial Committee of the journal, whose identities will not be known. The evaluation criteria are as follows:
a. Formal or presentation criteria: 1) originality, pertinence and adequate length of the title, 2) clarity and coherence of the discourse, 3) adequate preparation of the abstract, 4) internal organization of the text, 5) all other criteria established in these rules.
b. Content criteria: 1) evidenced knowledge domain, 2) scientific rigor, 3) theoretical and methodological basis, 4) actuality and relevance of the sources consulted and 5) contributions to existing knowledge.
Once received, the papers follow the following process, in an average time of 60 days: a) initially, receipt of the manuscript is acknowledged via e-mail; b) then, the Editorial Board performs a preliminary review (estimated time 10 days) to determine whether it complies with the Guidelines for the submission of papers; c) if it complies, it goes to arbitration (review of manuscripts, estimated time 20 days), a process in which qualified specialists evaluate the papers according to criteria of relevance, originality, contributions and scientific and academic rigor. The committee of referees will issue a verdict on the submitted work, which will consist of: (c-1) Publishable; (c-2) Publishable with slight modifications, involving those of form and style, with a view to adapting to the formal or presentation criteria of the journal; (c-3) Publishable with substantial modifications, involving those of substance and construction of the manuscript, with a view to adapting to the content criteria of the journal; c-4) Not publishable; d) if the work does not meet the minimum criteria present in these rules, the Editorial Committee will propose that it not be sent to the refereeing process; e) in any case, the editor of the journal will notify the author or authors, in writing, of the decision. In the event that the verdict of the referees differs one from the other (publishable/unpublishable), the article will be submitted to a new arbitration, until a unanimous decision is reached.
The reviewers do not use generative AI or AI-assisted technologies to perform the evaluation or decision-making process of a manuscript, since the critical thinking and original evaluation necessary for this work are beyond the scope of such technology and there is a risk that the technology may generate incorrect, incomplete or biased conclusions about the manuscript.
In case of a publishable decision with slight or substantial modifications, the author(s) will have a maximum of ten (10 days to send the modifications to the Editorial Committee at the following address: indexed.petrorenova@gmail.com If the author(s) do not send the corrections within the established period, it is assumed that the author(s) are not interested in not publishing their work. If the author or authors decide not to publish their work, they must submit a communication in which they make clear the non-publication of the material sent in the journal.
The responsibility for the refereeing process and the final decision to publish the articles lies with the Editorial Committee, in the person of its Director.
