Abstract

This study evaluated an experiential learning-based intervention to improve communication skills in job interviews among applicants for various positions, from administration to engineering, with or without prior experience, in Ecuador. A quasi-experimental research approach was used with 20 subjects. Data collection methods included questionnaires, interviews administered to human resources coordinators, and a validated assessment system. In the initial assessment, 80% of the sample presented deficiencies in communication skills, falling at a basic level. A comprehensive program was implemented that combined virtual and in-person sessions, including simulations with individualized feedback, STAR techniques, and stress management. Eighty-five percent achieved intermediate and high levels in the final assessment. The strategy employed to increase participants' employability proved effective in improving skills through immediate exchange and contextualized practice
